Eugene Valerio



Eugene Valerio first started training with Russ Williams in 1986 after seeing him on a Welsh TV News Item. He won his first fight a couple of months later against a much more experienced opponent. Early in 1987 Eugene was offered a British Super Lightweight title bout after another of Russ’ students Malcolm Vernon had to pull out of the fight the week before. Eugene won the fight with a first round KO then went on to successfully defend it twice winning both also with first round KO’s. Eugene moved up and successfully won British Titles at Middleweight and Super Middleweight. One of his memorable fights was when he stopped Phil Barton in Liverpool’s Olympia Stadium
In 1991 Eugene was offered a European Title fight in Porto Portugal at just 10 days notice. Eugene took the fight and trained every day with Russ getting himself sharp. Eugene completely dominated the fight and stopped his opponent in the 9th round.

Won a World Kickboxing title in Australia and has also fought in Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany and many other countries.
